What are the benefits of using soundproofing foam?
By using a soundproofing foam, like the Rothoblaas Silent Foam or Hermetic Foam, can help to achieve sound insulation performance up to 60 dB, as certified by the IFT Rosenheim Institute. The foam is made of a closed-cell polyurethane compound with high elasticity, offering excellent sound insulation performance and extraordinary durability.
It also adapts to the movements and deformations of the materials on which it is applied, offsetting the movements of the wood and the differential deformations of the various building materials.
Furthermore, it does not give off isocyanates and has a low VOC content of 19.4%. The foam is also airtight and watertight, even when trimmed or cut after drying. As such, soundproofing foam provides effective sound insulation and airtightness, and is suitable for indoor applications.
